Each Magellan 16" floor standing world globe includes components that are meticulously hand crafted by designer J.P. Roberts of Marietta, Georgia. The globe is a signed and dated by the artist.
The steel globe mount© tilts rather than swivels to view the southern hemisphere. The globe is secured in the upright position by tightening of an iron knob, a brass key acts as a “stop” for the tilt function.
The oak stand is hand rubbed to reveal rich cherry hues of wood emerging through a dark exterior coat. Steel and brass components are each treated with custom finishes.
The Magellan globe features Bronze Metallic up-to-date cartography in beautiful earth-tone colors. Globe sphere is made from 100% reclaimed pressed paper fiber.
