Place Names & Coastlines |
| Over
3000 carefully researched place names are included on every
12" globe - the 16" globe has more than 4000 place
names. In addition to cities, major landforms, rivers and water
bodies are labeled. These globes are valuable geographic
references, in contrast to globes made of acrylic or stone which
are often limited to fewer than 300 labels for the entire world.
Eureka's globes also include highly detailed coastlines
representing all continents and islands with precision. |
| Hand-crafted
Designer Stands |
| Each
stand is designed to complement but not overpower the globe. All
are hand-finished and paired with coordinated, plated (not spray
painted) meridians. Full rotating meridians allow the globe to
pivot 360 degrees in addition to full rotation about the poles. A
semi-meridian spins 360 degrees about the poles only, minimizing
visual interference while retaining an articulated scale in
degrees. An axis arm eliminates the meridian entirely but permits
full 360 degrees rotation about the polar axis. Polar caps are made
of metal, not plastic. Selecting a floor or table stand is a
matter of personal preference and space availability. Table models
are perfect for desks, credenzas, side or coffee tables,
pedestals, wide shelves or ledges. Floor globes complement living
rooms, dens, libraries, offices and entryways, much like fine
furniture. |
