Gemstone world globe is made with a variety of individually hand carved semi precious stones graded "A" for quality .
The oceans are made with Diamond Cut Mother of Pearl. The 25 semi precious stones were selected from countries around the world and, where possible, show the country of origin. The longitude (vertical lines), latitude (horizontal lines ) and the international date line are shown in a fine gold thread. Globe is coated with several coats of clear lacquer to protect and provide it with unique luster and shine.
Full-swing calibrated meridian (metal circle holding the globe) and elegant floor stand are electroplated with 24 karat gold, then lacquered to prevent tarnishing over the years. Compass is located mid base.
