About Us

My wife and I opened our store in September of 1994. I got the idea for my store from working in a travel bookstore in New York City called the Complete Traveller Bookstore at 35th and Madison. At that time I was completing a masters degree at New York University and deciding what to do next.  My wife and I wanted to start a family, so we thought we'd move to where I'm from, Bloomington, Indiana, where my folks live and where my dad had been a local retailer for many years until he retired in 2002. Thus, everything came together to open a "Travel Store" in Bloomington which is also the home of Indiana University.

We also just created the www.freeimagelog.com  where you can share, store and organize your photos/images and experiences from your travels, adventures, outings into nature and gatherings with friends and family whether near or far from home. There is absolutely NO LIMIT on the number of  photos/images or blog entries/posts you may enter. www.freeimagelog.com is completely FREE of charge, no strings attached.
