About Us

My wife and I opened our store in September of 1994. I got the idea for my store from working in a travel bookstore in New York City called the Complete Traveller Bookstore at 35th and Madison. At that time I was completing a masters degree at New York University and deciding what to do next.  My wife and I wanted to start a family, so we thought we'd move to where I'm from, Bloomington, Indiana, where my folks live and where my dad had been a local retailer for many years until he retired in 2002. Thus, everything came together to open a "Travel Store" in Bloomington which is also the home of Indiana University .

Some of our customers are kind enough to drop us a note, telling us what they think of our customer service and the products we offer.  In 2010 we decided to add some of these email testimonials to the website, as well as a list of educational institutions and other organizations who purchased our products recently, to give you a sense of who our customers are.
