| The Beth Sholom world globe is a part of the Frank Lloyd Wright CollectionŽ Globes. In 1954, the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright began work on the Beth Sholom ("House of Peace") Synagogue in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, now a registered National Historic Landmark. The idea for the building was based on the Israelites' exodus from Egypt, and their temporary stop at mount Sini. The globe's base is an adaptation from one of Wrights designs for a hexagonal walnut and copper planter in the building. Thousands of place names include continents, countries, capitals, biggest/important cities, bodies of water and more. Time dial is located at the North Pole. | Globe Diameter: | 12" (30 cm) | | Total Height: | 16" (41 cm) | | Width: | 12" (30 cm) | | Globe Weight: | 5.6 lbs.
